Yesterday I lost an amazing friend. Peepers was diagnosed with kidney failure almost a year ago and I finally had to put her to sleep. Peepers (or Peeps/Matty/Pee-wee/Creepers/Pepopowitz) loved being outside, chasing/eating moths, sleeping on faces and generally getting all up in your business. She will be remembered for her signature cackle as she never truly learned how to meow properly. Below is a tiny recording I did a couple weeks after she was diagnosed. At the time of the recording Peeps was sitting on the air organ watching a flock of birds outside my window. Peppers was 15 years old.
